Turtles
The Coastal waters of St.
Lucia is home to five species of turtles. Two
species nest along the beaches of The Greater St. Lucia
Wetland Park.
Female Leather Back and Loggerhead turtles return to
their place of birth
almost every year to full fill their role in the
prosperity of the specie.
Annual turtle tours are
conducted along the beaches of St. Lucia. These
tours are restricted to concession holders only and a
large percentage of
the funds they generate goes towards the turtle research
that is conducted
along the Maputaland coast.
